Yorkshire Academy’s Before School and After School Care Programs

Yorkshire Academy offers both a before- and after-school care program called Safecare. As partners with our working families, Yorkshire’s goal is to offer flexibility. There is an option for just Before School Care and an option for After School Care. Students may be dropped off as early as 7:00 a.m., and picked up as late as 6:00 p.m. during the school year.

In addition to the regular school days, our Safecare families may choose to have their children at Yorkshire Academy on several school holidays, i.e. Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving week, several days over the winter holidays, and 4 days during the Spring Break week. There are also ‘in between’ weeks that are open to Safecare families after school ends in May and before Yorkshire Academy’s Summer Program begins, as well as the week after the summer program. In order to prepare for the start of school, the campus is closed to all students two weeks prior to the 1st day of school in August.

All Safecare programs are taught by Yorkshire Academy teachers. Students are grouped with children their same age. Younger students enjoy hands-on activities, snack, and outside play. Lower elementary and upper elementary students are involved in homework, snack, and outside play.

Many Safecare families also choose to register their children in one or many of our MAP (Memorial Afterschool Program) classes, such as Chess, dance, tennis, Spanish, soccer, piano, art, coding, golf, and many more.

Parents can feel secure knowing their children are enjoying and learning in a safe and nurturing environment.
